Astelia chathamica 'Silver Spear'

Dazzlingly silver rosettes, offsetting clumps 3-5 ft high & wide with 3-4" wide leaves. Bold bands of pale green with a silvery-white underside. Best in light shade and well-drained soil. Accepts continual moisture but not prolonged drought or excessive summer heat.  Great container plant.  Cold hardy to the upper teens F, upper USDA zone 8, recovering from 10 to 12F.
