A wild hybrid between two California endemics found in chaparral and serpentine communities. This adaptable cypress grows slowly in dry environments, reaching 12-15ft tall over time, and more quickly where water is more plentiful, reaching a possible 40ft tall -- a handsome evergreen tree of any size with layered branches and gray bark. Tolerates a wide range of soils as long as drainage is decent; drought adapted accepting occasional summer water. Frost hardy to at least 0F, USDA zone 7.
